Connie Fernández
Chief Operations Officer
Connie has over 24 years of experience in leadership and fund development, including grant magement, strategic planning, program development, community needs and program outcomes assessment, and business operations. Before joining Skye Strategies, Connie served as President/CEO of The Speech & Hearing Center, Associate Communications Director: Development Editor at McCallie School, and Marketing & Development Director at Girls Incorporated of Chattanooga. She began her career in corporate marketing in Nashville, Tennessee, where she served as the co-chair of her employer-sponsored United Way campaign. After this experience Connie decided to return to Chattanooga, where she had attended university, in order to pursue a career in nonprofit management.
Connie is a member of Leadership Chattanooga's Class of 2018. She is also a member of the Chattanooga Women’s Leadership Institute (former Programming Committee Member) and has served on the Health Advisory Council and Policy Council for Chattanooga Head Start/Early Head Start, and has held many offices and board positions, including Club President and Board Chairman of the Downtown Sertoma Club of Chattanooga, receiving both the club and district Sertoman of the Year awards. A graduate of the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga with BAs in both Mass Communication and Anthropology, Connie enjoys having meaningful work that positively impacts the lives of others.
